Vote by mail?
As of 12/24/2025, the U.S. Postal Service implemented a change to postmarking practices.
Postmarks will no longer reflect the drop-off date.
Instead, postmarks will reflect the date of automated processing at regional facilities.
Impact: Letters may be postmarked 1-2 days after deposit, potentially affecting deadline driven deliverables such as mail-in ballots & tax returns.
For time-sensitive items, the USPS recommends visiting a staffed retail location and requesting a hand-stamped, same-day postmark, or mailing items several days in advance.
